Job Summary:
LG Chem Michigan Inc. has multiple open positions for Technical Operators to produce Li-ion batteries at our plant in Holland, MI. Technical operators will use equipment and computerized systems to produce, evaluate, process and package lithium-ion batteries. May include mixing of raw materials and computer controlled operation of multiple equipment types such as: micro-layer coating, cutting, assembly, notching, folding, drying, charge/discharge, and packaging. Conduct quality checks, engage in trouble-shooting and basic equipment maintenance throughout the production process, collect qualifying products and package for shipment.

Pay:  Starting pay is $14.50/hour

Job Tasks/Responsibilities - Primary:
 

  • Ability to work well with individuals and teams across the company to ensure the team meets or exceeds expectations
  • Ensure work is completed in a safe manner and maintain a safe working environment
  • Become skillful in equipment/machine operation
  • Verify correct alignment and flow of product during operation
  • Read work orders, instructions, formulas, and processing charts
  • Check equipment regularly to ensure normal operating activity
  • Engage in basic troubleshooting and report issues if not resolved
  • Grade, classify, or sort products according to specifications
  • Check product and production process for desired quality to specifications
  • Monitor data from measuring devices
  • Monitor HVAC and room conditions for optimal production
  • Monitor mixing process to meet the desired mixing grade
  • Other tasks as assigned

 
Education/Experience:

High School diploma or GED required (a 2 or 3 year technical degree or certificate is preferred, not required)
